The test that decides everything
Drag a fingernail slowly across the scratch. If your nail catches, the damage is deeper than the clear coat — it has reached the colour layer or the primer, and no cloth, compound or polish on earth will fill it. That is a body-shop job. Questions worth asking
Will it remove a deep scratch?
No. If a fingernail catches in the groove, the damage has gone through the clear coat into the colour or primer, and nothing abrasive can restore what isn't there. That needs filling and repainting. The cloth is for the class of damage that sits entirely within the clear coat.
Is it safe on all paint colours?
The maker says yes, and colour is not really the variable — clear-coat hardness is. Softer clear coats cut faster, which means less pressure and fewer passes. Test on a low panel like a sill before touching a bonnet.
How many times can I use one cloth?
